This lady complained of right lateral hip pain for 2 weeks. Physical examination showed local tenderness over the greater trochanter region. Resisted hip abduction was weak and painful.
Ultrasound examination showed hypoechoic and thickening of the anterior head of the gluteus medius tendon with enthesophytes / calcification noted, suggestive of tendinosis. There is no significant increase in vascularity.
