This is a case of 63 year old lady with end stage renal failure. She noted acute lateral elbow pain and swelling. There was no history of trauma. Examination showed localised tenderness and swelling over lateral elbow. Her elbow flexion range is from 40 to 90 degrees limited by pain. She cannot perform any forearm pronation/ supination movement due to lateral elbow pain. distal neurovascular intact.
POCUS showed effusion over radio-capitellar joint with hyperechoic deposits. (see attached image). The aspirate analysis confirmed pseudogout. Her elbow condition improved with conservative treatment.
